Dunes SC, Mandrem edged past Goa Velha SC 6-5 via the tie-breaker to enter the final of the Goa Tiger Cup 2022 All-Goa inter-village football tournament, organised by Goa United Sports Academy, at Poriat ground, Calangute on Saturday. Dunes will take on Rossman Cruz SC, Nagoa-Verna in the summit clash on Monday.
Goa Velha had the upper hand in the opening minutes and surged ahead through Pravin Naik in the 20th minute. However, Dunes fought back and equalised in the second half through Sylvester Dias in the 45th minute.
In the penalty shootout, Dunes scored through Leslee Britto, Sylvester Dias, Hushikesh Kinalekar, Jason Fernandes and Alberto Britto. Goa Velha scored through Kunal Kundaikar, Supurva Kundaikar, Lokesh Talwar and Bhavesh Gauns. Man of the Match was awarded to Dunes’ Jason Fernandes.
Meanwhile in the veterans category, Calangute Veterans will take on Bardez Veterans in the final on Sunday at Dr Gustavo Monteiro ground, Candolim.
