Betalbatim Sporting Club playing at their best defeated a lacklustre Roseman Cruz Nagoa Verna 2-0 to enter the semifinals of the Cavelossim Villagers UK Cup at Fr Druston and Wellington ground, Cavelossim. Betalbatim scored first when a cross from the left flank by Ronaldo Coelho was well controlled by Naison D'Cunha who dodged past Nagoa defenders Noel and Fulganco Cardozo to shoot into the goal giving Betalbatim the lead. Betalbatim had an opportunity to increase the lead when Savan Lotlikar was fed by Joelen Fernandes only to shoot wide with an open goal. At the other end, Jesloy Moniz and Sherwin Vaz failed to click upfront and were no threat to the tall Betalbatim defenders. Betalbatim increased the lead when Christo D'Mello gave a back pass to Nagoa keeper Shubert Moniz, whose clearance went straight to Betalbatim's Oliver D'Souza who took a snap volley from beyond the penalty area that hit the right post and entered the goal to put Betalbatim 2 goals up. Betalbatim now meet Cuncolim Union in the semis on September 2 while Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda will clash with Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda on September 1.
