CRC Chinchinim crushed Ambelim Sport Club with a tennis score 6-1 to sail into the finals of the 23rd All Goa Our Lady of Merces 8-a-side inter-village football tournament organised by Sirlim Sport Club at Our Lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim.
Both the teams started on an attacking note right from the word go. Franky's cross from the left side saw Jenio miss an open tap-in opportunity with just the goalkeeper to beat in the 7th minute. Nigel Fernandes in the 13th minute made it 1-0 in favour of CRC Chinchinim with a neat placement in the left corner of the goal. In the next minute Franky Oliveira's beautiful 18-yard right-footer made it 2-0.
In 16th minute, Sunny Fernandes under Chinchinim goal made an excellent save from a Samson freekick. In the 23rd minute, Blasco was shown a yellow card for rough play. Chadel Fernandes made it 3-0 for Chinchinim before half time.In the 37th minute, a header by Chinchinim's Franky hit the crossbar. Nigel of Chinchinim with his second of the game made it 4-0 in 38th minute before Shario Gomes made it 5-0 in the 61st minute. Myron Chinchinim put the final nail in the Ambelim coffin.
In the last minute of the match, Jenito of Ambelim got the consolation goal. The Ambelim keeper made a series of goal saves. In the injury time, a penalty was awarded but Blasco shot over the crossbar.
The final will be played between CRC Chinchinim and Navelim Villagers Union on August 15.
