The Goan team excelled at the UMAI National Muaythai Championship 2022, held at Tukoji Rao Pawar, Stadium at Dewas, organised by Sports Muaythai Association Madhya Pradesh affiliated to United Muaythai Association-India (UMAI).
Of the seven Goans who participated, four Goans - Krish Raj (Gold Medal), with KO in the U-13 years boys; Manjish Otavanekar (Gold Medal) in the U-23 years boys; Zara Bajaj (Silver Medal) in the U-15 years girls; and Roston A Fernandes (Bronze Medal) in the U-23 years boys.
The Goa Team of Sanket Patil, Roston Fernandes, Mohammad Kaif, Krish Raj, Manjish Otavanekar, Anusha Naik & Zara Bajaj participated under the guidance of coach/trainer master Prabhu Madiwalar, president Aman Lotlikar, general secretary Leslee Meitei. A total of 22 states participated and 800-plus fighters had registered.
