Goan boxer Priti Chawan made an impressive start in the 50kg category with an RSC result on the opening day of the 5th Elite Women’s National Boxing Championships in Hisar, Haryana on Thursday.
The Goan pugilist dominated Monika Pandey of West Bengal before the referee stopped the contest. In other notable results, Delhi’s Hemlata beat PS Mantasaha Kumari from Assam 4-0 in the 50kg category while Maharashtra’s Aarya Kulkarni outclassed Yape Bamang of Arunachal Pradesh 5-0.
The tournament is being hosted in association with the Haryana Boxing Sangh, and has a participation of more than 320 pugilists from 36 States/Union Territories/Boards from across the country.
