MARGAO: Hosts Navelim Villagers Union edged out Fr. Agnelo YSC, Paroda 5–2 via a tie-breaker to storm into the final of the Navelim Villagers Union Trophy at the Rosary Church Ground, Navelim, on Saturday.
The teams were locked 2–2 at full time, with Clinton Niasso and Nash Pereira scoring for Navelim, while Krishna Gaonkar and Livon Clement found the net for Paroda.
In the ensuing penalty shootout, Richard Costa, Nash Pereira, and Ronaldo Pereira successfully converted for Navelim, while Paroda failed to score from the spot.
Nash Pereira of Navelim Villagers Union was adjudged Man of the Match, and the award was presented by Kedar Zagalle.
