Parish Youth Nuvem edged past Solita Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda 1-0 to be crowned champions of Late Joao Francisco and Luiza Pacheco Cup in the final of the football tournament organised by Betalbatim SC at VP Ground Betalbatim on Sunday. Francis Andrade of Fatorda missed a chance to score in the 6th minute, two minutes later Myron Borges of Nuvem shot wide while it was Jonas Colaco of Nuvem who netted the match-winner in the 17th minute. The winners collected Rs 81,212 and the runner-up collected Rs 61,212 plus trophies. The individual prizes awarded are as follows: Best Goalkeeper of the final - Mackvino Colaco (Parish Youth Nuvem), Best Defender - Niclau Colaco (Parish Youth Nuvem), Best Striker - Jonas Colaco (Parish Youth Nuvem) and Best Midfielder - Francis Andrade (Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda). Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runner's up in the presence of Sadanand Shet Tanavade (Chairman, Economic Development Corporation Limited, Goa State BIP president), presided over by Mickky Pacheco (ex-sports & tourism minister), special invitees Ulhas Tuenkar (MLA Navelim), Fr Dinesh Mendonca (Asst Parish Priest, Betalbatim), Fr Adrian Furtado (Parish priest, Betalbatim), Anthony Fernandes (Sarpanch, VP Betalbatim), Viola Pacheco (Deputy sarpanch VP Betalbatim), Eban Mesquita (football Coach), other dignitaries and club officials
