Swimmer Sanjana wins second medal at nationals

Goan swimmer Sanjana Prabhugaonkar won her second medal, a silver medal, in 50m backstroke at the ongoing 37th Sub-junior & 47th Junior National Aquatic Championships 2021 in Bengaluru. The class 9 student of The Ardee School, Porvorim had won a gold in 200m backstroke on Day 2 of the championship. 

On Day 3 in the 50m backstroke, the Goan claimed the second spot with a timing of 31:63 behind gold medal winner Nina Venkatesh of Karnataka (30.80). Bhakti Wadkar from Maharashtra won the bronze with a timing of 31:94.  

Sanjana is undergoing full-time regular coaching under coach Bhushan Kumar’s team at GAF RAY Aquatic Centre in Bengaluru. She had bagged the 200m backstroke gold with a timing of 2:28:71.
