Vastu tips for study room

All parents dream that their children always succeed in exams with flying colours. And to help them achieve this goal every parent is ever ready to go to any extent without a second thought. Vastu shastra also plays a vital role in assisting the children to reach their destination of success if its principles in regards to the study room and study table are followed.

The study room no doubt should always be in the auspicious location in the house. If the study room or table is located in the auspicious directions such as North, North-East or East of the house then it will be an automatic invitation to positivity which in turn will bear fruitful results to the efforts that a child puts to study.

It must be borne in mind that the child faces East or North-East or North while studying. The room must have proper ventilation and the table should be a rectangle. It should have light colours like cream, light yellow of light green which will increase the child’s concentration. Dark colours especially black and grey must be avoided at all costs in any form including curtains.

The study table should be kept on the eastern wall but 6 inches away from the wall. The room and the table should be well organised and kept well lit, clean and tidy. There should not be too many books piled up on the study table. Any sharp objects including scissors and knives should not be kept open and visible on the study table. This will assist in avoiding pressure and tension and diversion of the mind of the child. There must not be a beam or a staircase above the study table. It is also advisable to avoid studying in the Brahmasthan or the exact centre of the house.

There should not be a mirror next to the study table. A reflection in the mirror while studying will double the mental pressure of studies and workload will increase. Also, there should not be a blank wall opposite the study table. If there is one it must be decorated with study material or study pictures or other beautiful nature pictures. A toilet opposite or behind the study table is harmful and should be avoided.

Doing a few asanas of yoga before studying will be of great help for concentration. Early to bed and early to rise is the best practice that needs to be inculcated so as to see the sun of success always rises in the child’s life.
