Margao Municipal Councillor Mahesh Amonkar has demanded an inquiry into the accident that took place at Khareband wherein his son, who was riding a motorcycle, sustained injuries after he was hit by a rickshaw.
The councillor has made a written plea to the Margao police station in-charge to conduct a probe into the accident, saying he has doubts whether his son, who was riding a motorcycle, was knocked down by the rickshaw as he has been taking up public issues as a city father.
“If you see the CCTV footage, the rickshaw hit the motorcycle, which was driven by my son. The rickshaw driver come down and have a look and then escape from the spot. I am asking for a probe just to find out whether this was a deliberate attempt to target my son”, he said.
While the Margao police had managed to zero in on the rickshaw driver, Amonkar has sought a detailed probe into the accident.
