The Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) on Friday re-launched its air-conditioned bus service between Dabolim airport and Calangute, to provide transportation exclusively for airport passengers.

Vasco MLA and KTC Chairman Carlos Almeida flagged off the bus service in the presence of Airport Director B C H Negi and others at Dabolim.
Speaking to media persons, Almeida said the bus would leave the airport at 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm, everyday.
“Plans are also afoot to launch a bus trip from Panaji to the airport. As the AC bus can accommodate 44 passengers, Rs 100 will be charged per person for the journey till Panaji, Rs 150 will be charged up to Calangute and the bus will leave from Calangute for the airport everyday at 11 am,” informed Almeida.
“As Goa is famous tourist destination worldwide and most of the tourists intend to visit north Goa beaches including Calangute, we have decided to restart our bus service as KTC is one of the most safest and affordable modes of transport in the State,” he added.
Almeida said there was a demand from the tourism department and the AAI for such transport facility from the airport, as such shuttle bus services are available at other airports across the country.
“If KTC gets good response, then the frequency of buses would be increased in near future and we are also exploring similar bus service to south Goa from the airport.”
“Initially, we had started air-conditioned shuttle service from the airport, but it had to be stopped due to lack of response from the passengers. However, this time we hope to get good response,” said Almeida.
