Goans in Qatar who are looking to translate their personal and property documents which are in Portuguese need not look for help elsewhere, as help is close at hand in Doha.

Sheen Services WLL, a company based in Doha, has emerged as a pivotal ally for Goans navigating the complexities of document translation and attestation and is taking care of all translation needs ranging from personal documents to property papers.

“For many years, Sheen services has specialised in translating documents from Portuguese to English and Arabic and vice versa there are many documents which are in Arabic or English language, which we are translating into Portuguese language and this is getting attested by different authorities in Qatar and can be used in Portugal Embassy as well as in Portugal itself,” said Lutfi Khan Kakar, owner of Sheen Services.

He said Sheen Services are certified translators and attestation firm in Qatar.

“Whether its attesting documents issued in Goa for use in Qatar or Portugal, Sheen Services WLL ensures a smooth process, easing the burden on Goans navigating legal and administrative landscapes across borders, which is very crucial for individuals seeking to validate their documents for various purposes. Sheen Services WLL has attested documents from the Portuguese Embassy in Qatar or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar. In addition, it offers the services of a notary public,” he added.

The company has a long history of catering to diverse sections of people and to different nationalities based in Qatar.

“We have a long history of translation and we cater to Portuguese-speaking nationalities based in Qatar from Portugal and Brazil,” said the Indian-born Qatar based entrepreneur.

Lutfi said over the last few years his company's customers are Indians who have opted for Portuguese nationality and who hail from Goa, Daman and Diu, and Nagra Haveli.

“Our customers in recent years are a lot of Indians, especially from Goa, who have either taken Portuguese nationality or who still have some documents to translate for the purpose of acquiring Portuguese nationality or sometimes old Portuguese property documents which need translation are entrusted to us.”

OTHER LANGUAGE TRANSLATIONS

Besides Portuguese, Arabic and English, Sheen Services provided translation services in other languages too.

Specialising in bridging linguistic and bureaucratic divides, the agency facilitates seamless translations from Arabic or English to Portuguese, and vice versa. In addition to Portuguese, Sheen Services WLL also provides translation services for 55 languages into Arabic or English.

“We have around 55 language translators with whom we are working as one of the main translators. The Airlines based in Qatar are one of our customers, as they are hiring their cabin crew as well as staff from different parts of the world. Their documents are in Spanish, Russian and Portuguese and other languages, and so we translate all these documents into English or Arabic.”

“As and when it's required, we can do translation of like 55 different languages and so out of the 55 languages, as most of the translation that is done is English to Arabic, apart from that Portuguese, Spanish, Russian and French language are the most translated.”

“Nowadays we are getting a lot of clients whose documents need to be translated from Meridian, the Chinese language,” he added.

FLEXIBLE SERVICES

Besides the translation, the company is rendering services by way of attestation of documents.

“Many documents like birth, marriage documents which need attestation from the Portugal Embassy. Sheen Services collects these documents in our office and submit it to the Portugal Embassy.”

He said that people rely on their services as they have a flexible timing which helps the customers in multiple ways.

“The reason that we are collecting in our office and why people are submitting in our office I would rather say is that we got a very flexible time our office opens 8 am and officially closes at 8 pm. But many times we keep our office open till 8.30 pm and sometime till 9 pm, to attend to our clients.”

Lutfi said his company sometimes goes outside their call of service for the sake of customer convenience.

“Sometimes, some people say that they can only come on Friday. To serve them, we even open the office on Friday to collect documents and we have a very flexible timing for customers who want to give us documents in non-office hours.”

Lutfi said they just do not collect the documents for translation and attestation but also submit them to the Portugal embassy on behalf of their customers.

“We collect all these documents and those which require attestation by the Portugal Embassy we submit to them and after all the attestation is finished, we hand them back to the document holders.”

Explaining the attestation procedure, Lutfi said: “If somebody got educated in UK, and if they want to get their UK education documents attested, we get these documents attested from the UK. We are dealing in attestation of documents from 30 different countries.”
