CANACONA: As part of World Environment Day, the NGO ‘We for Palolem’ distributed over 250 saplings during a door-to-door drive in Ward X of the Canacona municipal area.
Led by president Gaspar Coutinho, the team also helped plant saplings at several homes. Coutinho said the group has distributed and planted over 1,000 saplings in the past four years.
This year’s saplings included cinnamon, elaichi, cloves, insulin and stevia plants, pomegranate, custard apple, guava, black pepper and others.
