Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts will be hosting a conversation with award-winning architect Bijoy Jain titled ‘In Between Space’ on October 14 October at 6.30 pm. This will be episode XIX of ListenIN.
Bijoy Jain's practice highlights the importance of living with and understanding not just the brick but the mortar and the space between. Exploring the boundaries between art, architecture and material are central to his work. Does architecture have the power to change, impact human behaviour and encompass all areas of life? How can we reimagine our cities and can they be reclaimed as co-created, lasting spaces? Can we build sustainably? What does sustainability in architecture mean? Jain will be answering these and many more.
In 1995, Jain founded Studio Mumbai which operates as an interdisciplinary group of architects, engineers, master builders, artisans, technicians and artists between India, Japan and Europe. As a collective, they are involved in the research and development of projects, using process and time as an integral part of its expression.
