A book on Vijaya Shripad Naik, late wife of Minister of State for Tourism and Ports Shripad Naik was published at Adpai, Durbhat in the presence of educationist Prof Subhash Velinkar, OBC Commissioner Adv Manohar Adpaikar, industrialist Suhbash Mahanandu Naik and editor of the book Kirtankar and Pravachankar Dr Govind Kale. Recalling that the late Vijaya Naik was an excellent home-maker, an ideal wife, mother and friend, observed actor Amita Salatri who was addressing the occasion as chief guest. The book has been published by Matrubhumi Seva Pratisthan and includes articles by former chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar, Prof Subhash Velinkar, educationist Dilip Betkikar, Asha Digambar Kamat, Adv Manohar Adpaikar, Narayan Naik etc. Prof Subhash Velinkar, Adv Manohar Adpaikar and Dr Govind Kale also spoke on the occasion. Shripad Naik shared some memorable anecdotes with his late wife who died in a tragic accident some time ago. The minister announced that a trust would soon be founded in his late wife’s name.
