A condolence meet is scheduled on Sunday to condole the death of Canacona's longest serving doctor Dr Molu Divakar Desai. Dr Molu as he was locally known has been serving the people of Canacona for last over 50 years running a clinic at one and the same place at Chaudi. He passed away on Sept 11 at the age of 80. He was known to attend to patients with all sorts of general ailments besides his special 'one-injection' shot to treat fever had been his hallmark treatment. In his memory and to pay rich tributes to this health angel, Shri Mallikarjun and Chetan Manju Desai College, Canacona has called for a condolence meet in the college auditorium on Sept 18. Incidentally, late Dr Molu was conferred with 'Samaj Bhushan Award' on the occasion of 'Shiv Jayanti celebration by Dnyan Prabhodhini Mandal in February this year, in appreciation of his dedicated service to Canacona people.
