PANAJI: The Postal department in Goa has opened 7.63 lakh accounts in the past financial year 2022-23. Goa stands third among the States who were able to open record number of accounts in India. A campaign of opening postal savings accounts was conducted across the nation and during this period a total of 1.52 lakh accounts were opened in Goa.
The Goa Regional Postmaster General Sayeed Rashid briefed this in a regional star award ceremony organised on behalf of the Goa regional post office in Goa at Institute Menezes Branganza hall in Panaji. Goa Governor PS Sridharan Pillai who attended the award ceremony lauded the Postal department’s initiative and the services offered by the postal employees and awarded them.
