Jesuit to release Konkani religious music album

Fr Jose Silveira, a Jesuit priest of the Goa Province and Director of Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr, Porvorim, will release his second album of Konkani religious songs, ‘Jezu Nanv Tujem’ (Your name O Jesus).

The CD will be released by Calangute Parish Priest Fr Polly Lobo on March 7 and is dedicated to Fr Silveira’s uncles, late Rosario Siero, Menino Silveira and aunt, Jakin Silveira.

The tunes and lyrics are penned down by Fr Silveira himself and music is provided by Navel Pereira (Acoustica Studio, Arpora). The Audio CD is priced at 150.

There are 12 songs in the CD with different themes rendered by artistes from various villages of North Goa.

The title song ‘Jezu Nanv Tujem’ is sung by Fr Jose Silveira and Valency D’Souza, while the other songs have been sung by Agusto de Calangute and his wife Rosita Mascarenhas (‘Ye Somia Ye Dhonia’), Leticia Mascarenhas (Mogak Sakxi Dium-ia), Sr Tina Cardozo, SCC, and supported by Fr Silveira (Jivit Mhojem), Johnny de Calangute and Joycee Fernandes (Tunch Jezu), Shannon Fernandes and Fr Silveira (Dhin’vaxi Ami Zav’ia), Sr Magdalena Silveira, HC (Tuji Bapa Mogall Xelli), Tracy de Calangute and supported by Fr Silveira (Kitlo Modhur Movall Tallo), Victoria and Roulet of Saloi (Loyolachea Bhagivont Inasa), Catechism students Cyphan, Ciffany, Jovito and Shane (Bhavarth Zagoum-ia, Jivit Novsorum-ia), Leticia Mascarenhas and Fr Fransquinho Gomes, Ofm Cap (Ghe Mogall Bapa) and Clancy and Colisha (Chol Chol Cholum-IA).
