PANAJIThe popular Konkani monthly ‘Gulab’ in association with Fr Freddy J da Costa Memorial Trust (FFJDCMT), Konkani Bhasha Mandal (KBM), and Felicio Cardoso-che Pattlavdar (FCP) will celebrate Konkani Journalism Day 2023 on February 2 at 4 pm at Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Aquem, Margao in commemoration of publication of the first Konkani Journal ‘Udentechem Sallok’ on February 2, 1889 from Pune by the late Eduardo Jose Bruno de Souza. Eminent Journalist and Editor of ‘Goan Varta’, Kishor Naik Gaonkar will grace the occasion as chief guest and deliver a talk on ‘Potrkar Ani Somajik Lagnnuk’ (A journalist and his accountability to Society). Senior writer and journalist Teotonio D’Costa will be guest of honour and share his valuable experience and views on Konkani journalism. Paying tributes to late Eduardo Jose Bruno de Souza and the many deceased Konkani journalists, the programme will move on to an interactive session on how to sustain the Konkani daily, weeklies and periodicals. Everyone is cordially invited to attend the function.
