To reduce the carbon footprint, two state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic on-grid rooftop systems and a 100kWp system was installed at the BITS Pilani Goa complex. The facility was inaugurated by the director of Goa campus, Prof Suman Kundu in presence of dean administration, Prof Meenal Kowshik, estate manager A K Patil, Prof M K Deshmukh, dept of EEE and expert on solar and wind energy and senior electrical engineer Kaushik Phal Desai. A presentation by Prof M K Deshmukh shed light on the numerous benefits of utilising solar PV systems. The newly installed systems represent a significant step towards sustainable energy practices and reducing the institution's carbon footprint.
