PANAJI: Yuva Panaji, in collaboration with Goa Forest, braved heavy rains to organise a successful saplings plantation and distribution drive at Gopalkrishna Primary School in Sanquelim. This initiative, under the banner “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” was launched by PM Narendra Modi and kickstarted in Goa by CM Pramod Sawant.
Despite the challenging weather conditions, 50 saplings found their new home within the school grounds. Enthusiastic children took part in the plantation, supported by school officials who welcomed the initiative despite the campus’s compact size. Students planted the saplings along the college ground fence, contributing to environmental conservation efforts.
Expressing gratitude to Gopalkrishna Primary School for their cooperation, the event was attended by School Chairman Dr Sadanand Hinde, along with Yuva Panaji office bearers Gaurav Shetgaonkar and Vaman Sankhalker. Round Forester Paresh Kamulkar also participated in the event, underscoring the collaboration between Yuva Panaji and Goa Forest.
