The Goa Postal Division released a bulletin on Thursday as a curtain-raiser for the District Level Virtual Philatelic Exhibition GOAPEX 2021’ to be held from November 30 to December 2. The major theme of this virtual philatelic exhibition is ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' an initiative of the government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
The exhibition will highlight India's unique culture and heritage and will also provide a unique opportunity to commemorate the diamond jubilee celebration of the Goa Liberation movement. Rita Pinto, Assistant Superintendent of Panaji Sub Division is the GOAPEX 2021, exhibition coordinator.
On this special occasion, a special cover with special cancellation was also released on 'Goa Cashew Feni' Geographic Indicator Tag with an information brochure. The special cover and special cancellation were released by chief guest Col S F H Rizvi, Postmaster General Goa Region, Panaji in the presence of Dr Sudhir Jakhere, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Goa Division, Dr M R Ramesh Kumar, president of Goa Philatelic and Numismatic Society (GPNS) and Aslesh Kamat, secretary of GPNS. The special cover on 'Goa Cashew Feni' and the Bulletin 1 of GOAPEX 2021 is available for sale at the Philatelic Bureau at Panaji Head Post Office.
