Four students from PM SHRI Government High School, Morpirla, met President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
PANAJI: Four tribal students from PM SHRI Government High School, Morpirla, celebrated Raksha Bandhan with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.
The students — Daksh Velip, Priyanshu Velip, Ranjisha Gaonkar and Ridhi Velip — were accompanied by National Award-winning headmistress Maria Murena Miranda. They attended the event in traditional attire, presented handmade cards and rakhis to the President, and received appreciation for their colourful costumes.
President Murmu spoke about the festival as a symbol of love and care, and urged the students to plant trees as a pledge to protect the environment. She said trees provide energy and life to humans, birds, and other living beings.
The students described the visit as a dream come true and said they would cherish the moment for life. They thanked the President, the Ministry of Education, and State officials including Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Education Secretary Prasad Lolienkar, Director of Education Zingde, and SPD Dr Ghadi for their support in making the visit possible.
