A 48-year-old man from Mapusa was arrested in connection with the theft of a scooter near the RG Hospital at Porvorim.
According to Saligao police, Ayyan Khan of Ambaji-Fatorda had complained that sometime between January 31 and February 2, an unknown person had stolen his Honda scooter, which was parked at an open place near the RG hospital.
During the course of investigation, Saligao police succeeded in arresting Sunil Haldankar in the connection.
During investigations, Saligao Police recovered the stolen Honda Aviator scooter along with six other vehicles, all found in damaged/inoperative condition. It was also revealed that some of the recovered vehicles have been reported stolen at different police stations.
The accused has been remanded to four days in police custody, as investigations are in progress.
