The popular St Mary's Convent High School, Mapusa recently celebrated its Platinum Jubilee with a glittering function which was attended by a host of dignitaries. The Chief Guest was the Provincial Superior of the Western Province Rev Sr Maria Christi while Deputy Speaker and Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza was the Guest of Honour. The programme began with a prayer dance by 75 students. This was followed by the Eucharistic celebration where the main celebrant was Cardinal Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao. The presence of dignitaries and ex-students of the bygone years added glamour to the programme. The chief guest along with the other dignitaries unveiled the Jubilee logo that symbolised the all-round development of its students. A Musical, 'St. Mary's: Every Mile a Memory' illustrated the journey of how the school overcame all the struggles and difficulties to become one of the prime educational institutions in the State.
