Strong infra in schools needed for NEP: MLA

Saligao MLA Kedar Naik stated that with the implementation of New Education Policy 2020 there will be drastic change in prevailing education system in the country. "It will be an education of one’s choice. It will not only develop skills in the students but will go a long way in paving the future of the younger generation," said Naik. 

He was speaking as a chief guest at “Vidhya Dhara" programme organized by Vishwanath Mahadeo Parulekar Higher Secondary School, Verem in collaboration with Directorate Higher Education & Directorate of Education Goa. This was part of series of lectures on "Rice Diversity of Goa." Naik further mentioned that for implemention of NEP one of the basic requirements is a strong infrastructure. "We should strive to develop this infrastructure in the schools so that students get the best education," said Naik. Others who were present on the occasion were ZP member Sandeep Bandodkar, Headmaster of Pragati High school Ravindra Gaonkar, Headmistress of Pragati Vidyalaya Nerul, Sujatha Vernekar, Headmistress of Govt Primary & Middle school, Verem Bhonsale. Resource person Dr Shilpa Bhonsale, Principal Prashant Naik and PTA President Sheetal Salgaonkar. The resource person Dr Bhonsale in her talk highlighted the various variety of rice found in Goa based on colour, shape & size. Sandeep Bandodkar spoke on various variety of rice available in his village Pilerne. Principal Prashant Naik welcomed the gathering. The programme began with  Konkani song  and lighting of traditional lamp at the hands of chief guest and other dignitaries. The compering of the programme was done by Prof Sangeeta Naik and vote of thanks was proposed by Prof Pravin Gad.
