World Environment Day 2021 celebrated with the planting of fruit bearing tree saplings.

Lions Club of Canacona and Leo Club of Canacona celebrated the World Environment Day with the theme reimagine, recreate and restore with plantation of fruit bearing seedlings like mango, guava, lemon and some flower bearing plants. The team carried out the mission with a motto of ‘Each one, reach One and plant one that is each person planting at least one tree and thus nurturing nature.
The members of Lions Club of Canacona, members of Leo Club of Canacona, Lion Patricia Mendonca, president elect of Lions Club of Canacona, Lion Vividh Pawaskar, region chairperson, Lion Adrian, zone chairperson, Leo Vaughan Torres, Leo Alistair Torres and Cub were actively present. After planting the saplings Lion Vividh highlighted the importance of preserving nature. “Our environment has to be kept green and clean. We must take care of the planted saplings till they grow,” he stated. Each of the team members carried the saplings and planted them in their respective areas, taking into consideration the pandemic and social distancing.
