A fortnight after a theft incident, the Agassaim police traced and arrested alleged accused identified as Pranali Naik, aged 26, from Mandur, and recovered the stolen property. According to a complaint filed by Grefa Fernandes, unknown persons broke into her residence and decamped with gold items comprising a bracelet, a chain, and a bangle weighing around 90 grams and valued at Rs 6 lakhs approx. The incident occurred between 1 am and 9 pm on November 20. The police, during the investigation, zeroed in on the alleged thief and arrested her. During her interrogation, she confessed to the crime. The property was subsequently recovered by the police at her instance, PI Vikram Naik said.
