MARGAO: Madganvcho Awaaz and youth leader Prabhav Naik have written to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, urging the Government to organise a special programme in Margao on August 25 to mark the birth centenary of acclaimed Goan cinematographer K. Vaikunth. Born in Margao in 1925, K. Vaikunth earned national and international recognition, including a Filmfare Award for Seeta Aur Geeta and several other honours. The letter proposes a screening of Seeta Aur Geeta and a cultural event at Ravindra Bhavan, curated by the Entertainment Society of Goa in collaboration with local cultural groups. Madganvcho Awaaz has assured full support for the event and hopes this celebration will highlight Vaikunth’s remarkable contribution to Indian cinema.
