Barely hours after the Shirgao stampede which claimed six lives, another tragedy took place in Bicholim taluka when a toddler died while playing on a swing outside her house in Upper Harvalem, Sanquelim, on Saturday evening. According to Bicholim police, the incident took place as the girl, Aaradhya Dnyaneshwar Ingle (2), a native of Karnataka but residing with her family in a rented house in Upper Harvalem, along with her elder brother and other children were playing on a cloth swing set up outside the house. While she was swinging, her neck accidentally got caught in the cloth swing and she fell unconscious. She was rushed to the health centre, but died while undergoing treatment. Bicholim Police Sub-Inspector Vikesh Hadfadkar conducted the panchnama and is conducting further investigation under the guidance of senior police officials.
