‘Operation Sindoor’ has been the theme of the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav at Vadamol in Shristhal-Canacona.
Faith and patriotism have been showcased at the nine-day Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal in Vadamol-Shristhal, with the idol of Lord Ganesh flanked by a tank, war ship and fighter planes on the theme ‘Operation Sindoor’.
According to organisers, the Lord Ganesha idol will be taken out for immersion on Thursday evening, marking the end of the 9-day sarvajanik (public) celebrations.
They explained that this year’s depiction of the theme of the Ganesh festival was influenced by the victorious ‘Operation Sindoor’ by the country’s armed forces, in response to the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam-Kashmir.
The Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, Vadamol has also come out with donation coupons with prizes ranging from Rs 15 Lakh worth of gold, Rs 10 Lakhs worth of gold and Rs 5 lakh worth of Gold as the first, second and third prizes respectively. The draw will be held on September 4 and will be telecast live on YouTube.
The Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal committee comprises Umesh T Desai (President), Rajendra Gosavi (Secretary) and Vaibhav R Shenvi (Treasurer).
