Goa State NRI Commission said it is closely monitoring developments in West Asia and confirmed that it has received two inquires about Goans being stranded in the affected countries but not on serious note.

NRI Commissioner Adv Narendra Sawaikar told The Goan that he has spoken to members of the Goan community in Dubai and other parts of the Gulf, who informed him that the situation is presently normal and under control.

He urged people to refrain from circulating sensational or unverified information. “As per locals, the situation is not alarming at this stage. Authorities are issuing safety advisories, and residents have been asked to follow them strictly,” he said.

Sawaikar appealed to Goans in the Gulf, as well as their families in Goa, not to panic but to remain vigilant, follow official guidelines, and avoid unnecessary travel. He added that there is no information so far about any Goan being stranded.

He further stated that the NRI Commission is in constant touch with authorities in Dubai and with the Union Ministry of External Affairs to closely monitor the situation and ensure the safety and well-being of Goans in the region. The Commission has assured continued coordination with concerned agencies and timely assistance, if required.
