Public response strong despite initial delay

The much-publicised mutation disposal and facilitation camps held across North Goa talukas witnessed an encouraging response from the public, with a significant number of long-pending cases resolved over the two-day initiative.
According to official data, Sattari recorded 26 mutation cases taken up during the camp, of which 20 were successfully disposed of.
In Pernem, authorities cleared 23 cases out of 47 applications received over the two days.
Tiswadi too saw steady participation, with 64 people attending the camp and 47 mutation cases being resolved.
Bardez, however, emerged as the top performer, with a total of 166 cases cleared. The disposals were handled by the Mamlatdar along with five Joint Mamlatdars, ensuring expedited processing of applications.
Interestingly, Bardez achieved the highest number of disposals despite officials being unavailable during the first half of Sunday, which had initially led to some inconvenience for applicants.
Officials later resumed operations, leading to a surge in case clearances by the end of the camp.
Sources in the revenue department said the camps were aimed at reducing the backlog of mutation cases and providing citizens with on-the-spot assistance. “The response has been very positive. People have come forward in large numbers and many long-pending issues have been resolved quickly,” an official said.
Another official noted that such camps help bridge the gap between citizens and the administration.
“By bringing services closer to the people, we are ensuring transparency and faster delivery. The Bardez response, in particular, shows how effective coordinated efforts can be,” the official added.
The mutation camps form part of a broader initiative by the State administration to streamline land record services and address delays that often inconvenience property holders.
Authorities indicated that similar drives may be conducted in the future based on the response received.
