A day after framing charges against Bengaluru’s AI Startup CEO Suchana Seth, Children’s Court commenced trial on Thursday with the first deposition of the manager of the accommodation facility where she allegedly murdered her underage son on January 7.

The trial will continue on November 21 when more witnesses will be examined. The State has recorded statements of 59 witnesses in support of the case.

The Calangute police filed a 650-odd-page chargesheet in April, three months after her arrest for the heinous offence.

The chargesheet disclosed that the accused holding a high level of education and having founded “The Mindful AI Lab” in Bangalore is capable of misleading the investigation.

Seth is charged with smothering her child to death after giving him an overdose of cough syrup and then stacking his body in a trolley bag.

The excessively heavy bag was kept in the trunk of a taxi she hired at Rs 30,000 to escape from Goa to Bengaluru, before getting arrested in a coordinated effort by Goa police, Karnataka police and the taxi driver.

Seth has denied killing her son while blaming her estranged husband Venkat Raman for the consequences.
