The Department of Social Welfare has said that the monthly pension under the Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) has been disbursed till December 2024. The pending disbursement for January 2025 is expected next week.
“The monthly pensions are being regularly disbursed,” Social Welfare Director Ajit Panchwadkar said, speaking to The Goan.
Earlier, the department had confirmed that the pension for October 2024 was disbursed on December 26, 2024, followed by the release of financial benefits for November 2024.
Official sources indicated that payments are generally processed on the 10th of each month, with files regularly forwarded to the Finance Department for approval.
The disbursement of funds is subject to availability.
“The amount is sanctioned by the Finance and Accounts departments before being credited to the bank.
The bank requires around 48 working hours to process the disbursement,” an official further explained.
