The Electricity Department has received the prestigious Governance Now Magazine GCloud and Data Centre Award 2020 in the Category of Data Centre for successful implementation of various IT projects such as R-APDRP Part A and for various digital initiatives such as BBPS, Online Services, etc.
A number of applications of high caliber were shortlisted for the award and the Electricity Department was selected by the jury after long deliberation and careful considerations of all nominees. The Electricity Department is the only Electrical Utility in the country to have received this award.
The award was received by the Chief Electrical Engineer, Sh. Rajiv Samant along with Superintending Engineer, Mayur Hede and Assistant Engineer, Anita Pai Raikar in the virtual award ceremony held on November 25.
On receiving the award, the Chief Electrical Engineer congratulated his fellow colleagues for the continuous improvement and new initiatives in digitisation of the department. He also thanked the award jury for considering Electricity Department for the award.
The Minister for Power Nilesh Cabral congratulated the entire GED team for receiving the award and expressed happiness over various IT initiates implemented by the department under ease of doing business. The Secretary (Power), Kunal congratulated the entire GED team and wished that the department will attain greater heights in customer satisfaction and technology use.
