Work on the renovation of the water reservoir at Borda has commenced.

The government had decided to repair and renovate the Borda water reservoir at an estimated cost of Rs 75 lakh.
The water reservoir was in the centre of a bog after the dome started crumbling, with the debris falling inside the tank, supplying drinking water to the local residents.
After the issue was highlighted by Borda Margao Municipal Councillor Camilo Barretto, the PWD has now decided to repair and renovate the water reservoir to meet the requirements.
A PWD engineer told The Goan that the crumbling dome atop the reservoir will be razed to make way for a new dome. Besides, the structure of the water reservoir will be repaired, including the replacement of the ageing water pipes.
Work on the project, which is being taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 75 lakh, is expected to be completed before the onset of monsoons.
Thanking Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who also holds the PWD portfolio, Councillor Camilo Barretto said the repair and renovation work will go a long way in providing a safe and potable water supply to the residents of Borda and Talsanzor.
