In a major setback to the Goa Police probing Rs 100-crore share market scam against absconding accused Myron Rodrigues and his accomplices, the High Court of Bombay at Goa has quashed and set aside the First Information Reports (FIRs) and Lookout Circulars against four accused.

The petitions were filed by Navnik Pereira, Sushant Ghode, Nolan Antao and Vijay Joil, who contended that the FIR by the EOC be quashed as they were not named in the chargesheet.

The Division Bench of Justice Bharati Dangre and Justice Nivedita Mehta accepted the argument that the petitioners were neither named in the complaint nor in the FIR and had not been chargesheeted due to lack of evidence.

"Upon a categorical submission being made that no chargesheet has been filed against the Petitioners on account of lack of evidence and since they are not prosecuted in connection with the subject FIR, the Petitioners can make no grievance as prayed in the Petition... since the Petitioners are not chargesheeted, the action under the lookout circular definitely must fail," reads the order while disposing of the petitions.

Earlier, during arguments, Public Prosecutor S G Bhobe stated that the police may release a suspect if there is insufficient evidence or reasonable ground for suspicion.

The Economic Offences Cell had recently filed a charge sheet against Myron and his wife for allegedly cheating a local senior citizen Ivon Suresh Joaquim Almeida of Rs 1.19 crore. The Crime Branch is investigating another case against him, his ex-wife Sunita Rodrigues, wife Deepali and has also named five other accomplices -- Nolan Lawrence Antao, Joaquim Rosario Pires, Vijay Dattatray Joil, Navnik Mario Pereira and Sushant Manohar Ghodge. Sunita who was arrested on December 7, 2024 was released on conditional bail after 20 days.

About two months back, the Goa government ordered the attachment of seven properties belonging to Myron and his wife, Deepali Parab in Goa and Maharashtra. The order also froze Rs 44.46 lakh approx across bank accounts with all these properties to be transferred to the district administration in South Goa till further order. Myron has a blue corner notice against him and a red corner notice was expected soon.
