A woman and her son from Bhalkhajan-Korgao ended their lives at Devgad in Maharashtra.
According to information, Sharda Krishna Gawde (60) and her son Sudesh (30) ended their lives in a hotel room at Devgad and the hotel staff reported the matter to the local police in Devgad.
During investigations, the local police were informed that the deceased were from Pernem taluka.
While the motive for the suicide is unclear, it is learnt that Sudesh was employed for a finance company in Siolim.
When contacted, Pernem Police Inspector Nitin Halarnkar said that they came to know about the two deaths through social media and that, both deceased were residents of Bhalkhajan-Korgao.
A group of residents from Bhalkhajan left for Devgad late Saturday evening to take possession of the bodies.
