CANACONA
As many as 257 Std 4 students from Canacona taluka appeared in the aptitude test for Incentive Scholarship Scheme (Pradnya Shodh) conducted by State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) at the Government Higher Secondary School, Canacona, on Sunday.
Students who pass this examination will get Rs 2,000 per annum till passing the Std 10 examination.
Students who have scored 60% and above marks in the first terminal examination of Std 4 are eligible to answer the qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% for the candidates belonging to Reserved Category).
This exam is being conducted for students from rural and urban areas and total of 40 eligible students from rural (23) and urban (17) areas will get this scholarship from Canacona taluka.
The question paper of qualifying examination (total 100 marks) consists of three subjects viz.
Language (Marathi/Konkani/Urdu), Mathematics and Environmental Studies.
In Canacona, this exam is being conducted under the guidance of Canacona Divisional Education Officer Ashok Gavas Desai.
In the meantime, the Entrance Examination at Jawahar Navodeya Vidyalaya, Canacona will be held in Government Higher Secondary School, Mastimoll on April 29 from 10 am to 12 am and a total of 143 students from Canacona taluka are likely to appear for this examination.
Only the Class 5 students seeking admission in Class 6 are eligible for this exam and students who pass this exam will be eligible for free education till Class 12 of CBSE Board at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.
