Rider hurt after leopard jumps on motorcycle

A motorcycle rider was injured after a leopard jumped onto his bike while attempting to cross the road at Mulgaon on Saturday night around 8 pm. The incident occurred on the Mulgaon main road, resulting in serious damage to the motorcycle.

The injured rider, identified as Digambar Naik, a resident of Mulgaon, sustained injuries to his hand and leg. He was immediately taken to the Bicholim Health Centre, where he received primary treatment and was later discharged.

According to local residents, leopard movement in the Mulgaon area has increased in recent days, causing fear among the public. In response, Forest Department officials have installed a cage in the area to trap the animal. Despite this, the leopard continues to be sighted in populated areas.

Residents have urged the authorities to take urgent steps to prevent further incidents and ensure public safety.
