The Railway Protection Force on Thursday arrested two bootleggers, both natives of Madhya Pradesh, and seized from their possession liquor worth around Rs 3,170.
The RPF also nabbed two petty thieves involved in the theft of electric copper cables worth around Rs 27,880.
The names of the two MP natives arrested by the RPF in the liquor seizure case are Dharmendra Singh and Sanjay Singh. They were found carrying 29 bottles of illicit Goan-made liquor through the railways. The seized goods were later handed over to the Excise Department office in Margao for further legal action.
Meanwhile, the RPF caught two thieves involved in railway material property theft i.e. electric copper cable valued at Rs 27,880 near the Margao Railway Station.
Their names were provided as Manjunath HR, a native of Mandya-Karnataka and Sameer Gokak, a resident of Sao Jose de Areal. The duo was later produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Margao.
