The Agassaim police located two female students who went missing from their high school in Siridao on Wednesday, creating panic among the school authorities.

The girls, who had left their mobile phones behind, were traced in Miramar within three hours of the police report. According to Agassaim police inspector Vikram Naik, the missing students, aged 14 and 13 and both in Class VIII at Government High School in Palem-Siridao, were last seen during recess. They reside at the Institute of Public Assistance (Provedoria) in Goa Velha, as directed by the Child Welfare Committee.

“Upon receiving the missing persons’ report, we deployed three teams to investigate and initiated inquiries with their friends and fellow students. However, no pertinent information came to the fore. Our teams conducted thorough searches and reviewed CCTV footage in Agassaim, Panaji, and Old Goa,” Naik explained.

Despite the absence of mobile phones, the police kept the victims under surveillance and obtained and analyzed their Call Detail Records (CDR). Through technical surveillance and information from reliable sources, Naik confirmed the missing girls’ presence in Miramar. They were brought to the police station and statements were recorded in the presence of the NGOs. The police then sent them to Apna Ghar for necessary action.
