Around 1,171 industries using the high tension power will get uninterrupted power of course with some additional charges if the proposal from the power ministry is approved by the Chief Minister to purchase 150 MegaWatt power from the open market.

The Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has expressed confidence that a solution to the power shortage will come within two days.

The state is facing power shortage and due to this load shedding has to be done. To overcome this problem, the government is trying to purchase 150 megawatt power from the open market.

"I have sent a proposal to purchase power from the open market for financial approval. Hopefully the Chief Minister will approve the decision by Wednesday," said Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar.

Details like how much financial burden the state will have to endure will be finalised once the CM takes the decision on it, added Dhavalikar adding the CM is likely to make a statement on it after the cabinet meeting.

The power minister Sudin Dhavalikar held a meeting with the small industrialists from the state. The Goa State Industries Association President Damodar Kochkar was present for the meeting.

"There is a shortage of power in the country. As the state is getting less power, 4 hours power shedding is done.

If the industries use the power generated through the personal generator during the loadshedding hours then the cost of power is Rs 30 per unit and business becomes unfeasible. To overcome this problem we have decided to purchase additional power from the open market," added Dhavalikar.

All things will be clear in two days once the CM gives the financial concurrence for the proposal, said Dhavalikar.

Almost all industries are affected due to power shortage, he said. Dhavalikar also assured that till April 30 no power cuts will be done.
