A youth from Nirwade-Maharashtra died on the spot in an accident at Dhargal Pernem.
The accident happened at 12.30 pm on the Mumbai-Goa National Highway at Dhargal when Vasudev Pednekar was returning home on his two-wheeler.
The scooter rammed into a cement pole on the divider and he fell on the road. He sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot. Locals alleged that an ambulance took time to reach the site.
The police conducted the panchanama. It is believed that the two-wheeler skidded on the sand and soil heaped on both sides of the road, leading to the accident.
