5 things you didn’t know about... Miley Cyrus

1. She wasn't actually born as Miley. Her birth name is Destiny Hope Cyrus, but her parents gave her the nickname “Smiley” since she was such a happy baby. Eventually, Billy Ray Cyrus and her mom Leticia shortened the nickname to Miley. Cyrus officially changed her name to Miley Ray (in an ode to her dad) in 2008. Her grandma is the only one who calls her Destiny.

2. She was born with a heart condition called tachycardia which although not life-threatening condition, does cause Miley's “resting heart rate to excel faster than normal.”

3. She's richer than her dad. While we'll forever be indebted to Billy Ray Cyrus for revolutionizing country love songs, it's his little girl who's raking in the cold hard cash. During her Hannah Montana years, Miley Cyrus was the sixth highest paid child star on TV. Her net worth today is estimated to be between $120 and $150 million

4. Even though she has a phobia of needles, Cyrus sports several tattoos. One on her chest reads 'Just Breathe' (written in her mom's hand writing!) and it's an homage to a close friend of Miley's who passed away from cystic fibrosis in 2007. It's also a dedication to Miley's grandfathers, both of whom died of lung cancer.

5. No country music for Miley. Even though she's from Tennessee and her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, hit it big in the country scene, Miley won't be recording country music any time soon
