Basketball (girls) and badminton (boys) teams of BITS Pilani K K Birla Goa Campus performed well at the recently held Inter Collegiate/University Annual Sports Meet held in Dubai.
The basketball (girls) team emerged runners-up after losing the final against students of Herriot Watt University, UK. The badminton (boys) team of BITS Goa campus won the title, beating the students of BITS Pilani Campus.
The meet was held at BITS Dubai campus where various colleges and universities from different countries participated. Argentinian football great Diego Maradona presented the awards to the winners.
Meanwhile in Goa, BITS Football Club emerged runners-up in the GFA Third Division League, Mormugao Zone from among five teams that played the league-based tournament at BITS football ground. BITS FC earned seven points from four matches by winning two, losing one and drawing one game. BITS FC has now qualified for the Second Division League to be played in the coming season for second time.
