A splendid brace from Felix D'Mello helped Raia Sports Club wallop Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club,Ilha de Rachol 5-1 in Group A (Salcete Zone) GFA Third Division League at Panchayat grounds, Raia on Tuesday. Raia Sporting Club led 3-0 at the break.
Raia Sporting Club started the game in whirlwind fashion and took the lead in the very 1st minute when Ciano Fernandes punished the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish.
Buoyed by the lead, Raia Sporting Club upped the ante in the 25th minute as Felix D'Mello doubled the lead with a stiff grounder. Spurred by the double lead, Raia Sporting Club intensfied their attacks and at the stroke of lemon-break, Felix D'Mello struck second time to give his team a 3-0 cushion.
Post resumption,Raia Sporting Club continued to enjoy the lion's share of exchanges and in the 60th minute, Savio Gomes inflated the tally when he unleashed a snap shot crashed into the net. Down by 0-4, Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club manged to reduce the deficit when Joebern Fernandes flicked the ball into the net.Vaibhah Naik rounded off the tally late in the second half.
