Tell us about your latest collection ‘Serene'.
‘Serene' is inspired by the modern women where I have used bold cuts, different silhouettes and panaromic colours like combination of bold and nude which express the inner strength of women. The collection is embellished with crystal work and is a perfect line for brides and bridesmaids.
Given that Goa is considered as one of the favorite destinations for weddings, what are some new wedding styles that you would love to see on people?
I would love to work with capes, exaggerated sleeves and long back veils. I believe it is also important to work with light weight fabrics for brides so that they can carry it comfortably all day long. These fabrics are also perfect for destination weddings

You were recently a part of the India Beach Fashion Week which must have been a very enriching experience for you. Tell us about your main learnings from the event and what you enjoyed the best.
I was the only Goa based designer who got the opportunity on this platform. I got a chance to meet an interact with many designers from around the country and observe their different styles of presenting and the embellisments that they use. One of the many things that I learnt though was how to be more confident on such a big platform and in this I had a lot of support from other designers.

What was it about the fashion world that attracted you and made you take it up as a career?
I always had a passion for fashion right from my childhood. I liked to experiment with different type of fabrics and mold them in different styles which give a unique look and a comfortable feel. I first began learning fashion in JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi but owing to my marriage I was unable to complete the course. I later learnt at the Stenodac Institute of Fashion Designing and Garment Technology and have been involved in the fashion industry for the past four years.

Apart from recent IBFW, where else have you showcased your works?
I have done locational shoots related to fashion, designed outfits for fashion peagants at national and international level and also showcased my collection at Goa International Fashion Week Season 1 and 2 .I always like to promote Goan models and improve the level of fashion in Goa . I was also a part of the Grape Escapade 2017 organised by the Tourism department where I showcased my party wear collection .
Do tell us more about your label Thiana and your store
Thiana means glamorous lady and it is my endeavor at Thiana that each deserving women should groom herself with the best attire. My store is situated in the heart of Vasco city and you can find a range of wedding gowns, evening gowns, cocktail dresses etc here.

Do you feel that Goans take enough interest in fashion shows given that some of the best ones are now happening right next door?
In Goa, fashion infrastructure is very slow. But now it is slowly growing and Goan people have started taking an interest in quality fashion shows and like to experiment with latest assortment of fashion.

Your take on how Goans can improve their fashion sense.
It is important to consider the fabric and silhouettes as per your body style. The comfort level of the outfit as per the occasion should also be taken into consideration as also choosing the best suited colour for your skin tone. Be fashion conscious and choose the right clothes for yourself

What are some other styles/prints/textiles that you would love to experiment with in future?
I would like to experiment with Bohemian style, cruise wear and I want to introduce new trends for Western bridal wear in Goa.
