The 1 Goa Naval NCC Unit celebrated the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram with patriotic spirit at the Multipurpose Sports Stadium in Pernem.
Around 600 Naval NCC cadets from various schools and colleges across Goa participated in the event, which honoured the timeless song that inspired India’s freedom struggle and continues to promote national unity.
The celebration began with a ceremonial parade and the hoisting of the NCC ensign, followed by a collective rendition of Vande Mataram that filled the venue with emotion and pride.
Addressing the gathering, the Commanding Officer of the No. 1 Goa Naval Unit NCC said, “The song Vande Mataram reminds us that true patriotism lies in selfless service, unity, and dedication to our motherland. As cadets, you are the torchbearers of that spirit — disciplined, committed, and ever ready to serve the nation with pride.”
The ANOs (Associate NCC Officers) and CTOs (Care Taker Officers) were appreciated for their guidance and commitment to the cadets. The event concluded with a collective pledge by all participants to uphold the values of patriotism, integrity, and unity in every sphere of life.
